Mandatory Spend on CSR

P.O.S.H. at Workplace

Every employer must ensure Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) at the workplace. Failure to do so makes them liable to a fine of Rs 50,000 in case of any violation of this Act. In subsequent violations, the amount of fine will get doubled, and may lead to cancellation of their license or registration of the business. A lot of businessmen are not even aware that it applies to every organization that employs more than 10 people.

Anti-Child Sexual Abuse

The Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 has complex set of guidelines for different types of offences. Failure to comply with the law means punishment that includes imprisonment as well as fine. Further, in case of Aggravated Sexual Assaults, i.e., offences committed by police or defence personnel, staff of hospital, jail or educational institutions, relatives or custodians etc – the law prescribes even more drastic punishments.
